The mother of an eight year old student told me about an experience she had taking her son to an art museum. Her son stood in front of a canvas painting, stared at it for a time and then said ‘Mom, it looks easy, doesn’t it. It’s not.’

Her budding artist was taking an acrylic painting class at The Marvegos at the time and learned that there’s much to creating an acrylic painting. To value something means to put extra effort and care into something. When you value something it holds meaning and significance and often comes with respect. The process of art making develops more than the ability to make fine art. The process also builds respect and appreciation for the art form.
