Online Art Classes

The Marvegos is bringing our award-winning program online. Classes include live interaction with a Marvegos instructor for a unique and personalized art making experience via Zoom. Weekly (one day per week), daily (week-long) and camp (3hr/day week-long) options are available.

The description and supply needs of each series can be found using the buttons below. Reminder emails will be sent in advance of each series.

The first class will be extended by 10-15 minutes to assist students with setting up their equipment and work area.

Each class will require:

  • Space at home to work (table top at least 3’ wide and 20” deep)
  • An electronic device with webcam and microphone
  • Art supplies listed in the About section of the program descriptions
  • Other supplies easily found at home

Online Art Exploration Series for Ages 5-under 7

Through live interactions with a Marvegos instructor, exclusive Marvegos videos, and visits from our mascot, Moki the monkey, students will learn ‘special words’ used in fine art making, how to mix colors, how to use the color wheel and more to create artworks that are original and truly their own. All Series 1 online classes refer to the same ‘special words’ to help students build their understanding of the fine art terms. In addition, our online classes will teach and encourage students to take care of and store the supplies they use. Though our online classes are designed to fully engage and empower children to attend the class and complete their work independently, parents of students ages 5-6 should remain within earshot during the class to deal with unforeseen issues.

Each series will contain six parts and continue to loop. The projects in each part of the series will always be the same. If your child has completed Series 1.1, sign up for Series 1.2 and so on. You may start in the middle of the series and loop. We recommend completing a full series in order to benefit from the curriculum.

Weekly (one day per week), daily (week-long) and camp (3hr/day week-long) options are available.

Online Fine Art Fundamentals Series for Ages 7-11

Through live interactions with a Marvegos instructor, exclusive Marvegos videos, and visits from our mascot Moki, the monkey, students will learn techniques to develop their own style of art making and  create artworks that are original and truly their own. Students will apply elements of form and composition to their drawings while exercising creativity and developing observation skills. Each Series of online Fine Art Fundamentals classes build on different composition concepts. In addition, our online classes will teach and encourage students to take care of and store the supplies they use. Marvegos Online is designed to fully engage and empower children to attend the class independently.

There is a one-time, pre-requisite Online Form Class each student who is just starting Fine Art Fundamentals must complete. This class teaches students about form and composition, preparing students with the necessary understanding of these concepts to more confidently apply them in the projects designed for our Fine Art Fundamentals and Advanced Exploration programs. Sign up for the Online Form Class.

Online Advanced Exploration for Ages 11-15

This program begins with Introductory Advanced Exploration which provides students with the fundamental understanding of concepts, processes and vocabulary to work productively with our instructors both in the studio and online. In addition, the introductory class will teach students how to set up for projects and manage their own studio space. Upon completion of the introductory class, students may enroll in any Online Advanced Exploration program to set goals, create projects of their own design and grow to become independent artists. Teachers provide guidance and individualized demonstrations to help students achieve their specific goals.
