Coronavirus/COVID-19 Update

I’m sure you are watching the Coronavirus updates and wondering what is happening at The Marvegos. We are following developments of the Coronavirus through reputable sources and responding accordingly.

March 25 Update – Since school closures are extending through May 1, The Marvegos made the very difficult decision to cancel all Session 4 classes. Any Session 3 or 4 classes cancelled in response to COVID-19 will be refunded. There are almost a thousand refunds to process. We appreciate the support, patience and understanding of Marvegos families through this difficult time.

March 13 Update – We have decided to close the San Mateo studio temporarily beginning Friday, March 13 and the Fremont, Los Gatos and San Ramon studios beginning Monday, March 16 to help mitigate the spread of the COVID-19 virus and protect our students and staff. We plan to maintain the closure until further notice. Please note, Saturday classes at our Fremont, Los Gatos and San Ramon studios will run as planned on March 14.

Any Session 3 classes cancelled in response to COVID-19 will be refunded. Parents who have registered for Session 4 will be refunded the number of classes that are cancelled once once we know we’re safe to re-open.

Any make-ups from classes prior to the studio’s closure will be honored once classes resume.

The Marvegos staff appreciates the patience and support of our families. If you have any questions, feel free to email us at info@marvegos.com. Please stay safe and well!

How The Marvegos is handling COVID-19 when class is in session

Our teachers have been instructed to stay home if they are sick.

All students entering our studios will begin their day by washing their hands for 20 seconds. We will also be providing hand sanitizer.

Our teachers wash their hands at least once an hour largely to remove art materials, which will serve dually to prevent spread of illness.

We will also do our best to avoid and discourage as much physical contact with other students and teachers as possible.

Students will be instructed to thoroughly wash their hands after class. Hands are dried with disposable paper towels.

Chairs and tools used by students will be sanitized between classes.

Our teachers are also asking children and families who are ill or come from schools the County Public Health Department have listed for closure to refrain from attending classes. Children are checked for any visible signs of illness and asked if they attended school today. If not, whether it was because their school was closed. If the County decides to close all schools in the area of our studio, we will comply and update you as to the length of time we are closed.

How parents can help mitigate the spread of COVID-19

Please stay home from class if you or your child is sick.

Instruct your child to wash his or her hands upon entering the studio and before touching aprons.
